8 Days and Counting Until Wine Riot

I’m beginning the official count down today. We have only 8 days until Wine Riot, our huge, totally kickass wine event at the Cyclorama in the South End. We’re at the point now where we’re dotting our i’s and crossing our t’s.

800 lbs of ice: ordered

3,500 Go Vino glasses stamped with the Wine Riot logo: shipped from CA

50 producers and importers: signed, sealed and delivered (check out the full list)

Glossy covered, full color, 20 page printed guide: being printed as I type

We’re down to the details now, figuring out the exact jobs and positions for our 150 volunteers, ordering last minute supplies, printing name badges and all those fun little things you stay up all night worrying what you forgot.

Wine Riot has been a crazy journey so far. We launched the initial push in January and it’s almost like I blinked and all of a sudden it’s April. However, I know we’re not out of the woods yet. In the next 8 days, four months of arduous labor and organization will all come together, for an amazing and kickass event.

Our office has been abuzz this week with our staff keeping a leader board of ticket sales, booth sales and a count down that started at 14 weeks, but is now down to 8 days. Maybe someday we’ll get one of those big wall clocks that counts down until the next Wine Riot (look for dates in November!) but for now, the white board in my office will do.
