Brix is the polar opposite of every wine store in Boston. While most stores in town threw some metal shelves in a retail space and haven’t redecorated since the 1970s, Brix actually prides itself on being neat, clean and stylish.

There are no cardboard boxes in sight, shelf tags, handwritten description cards or posters hanging on the walls. Brix looks the way a classy shop in a “big city” should look. Their selection is small in order to make room for the classier displays but they make up for the small amount of choices with unique and intriguing wines. Unfortunately, pretty much everything in the shop costs $2-$5 more than the ugly stores. At least you get prime customer service from well dressed and surprisingly un-snobby employees.

If you have the cash to spend a few extra bucks, Brix is worth it. If you’re on a budget, splurge on something unique but stick to stomping around the dust-bins of Boston.
