dude-guideThe Dude says he “especially liked how [we] highlighted some of the value-producing and fast-improving regions of Spain (Jumilla, Yecla), didn’t shun Austria, and were bold enough to offer up Chenin Blanc recommendations from Clarksburg in California.” We’re proud to say he thinks that “All in all, it’s 40+ pages of wine goodness.” Thanks, Wine Dude!1WineDude

The Wellesley Wine Press and Wine Riot- September 21st 2009

wwp-300x42

Robert Dwyer from The Wellesley Wine Press blog attended the VIP riot in April and as a seasoned veteran he is ready to give some good tips on Rioting this weekend. Notable tips:

-Take public transportation or arrange for a driver!

-Don’t be afraid that it’ll be too wild. It’ll be fun but not crazy! Everyone who attends is very cool, so add in some free-flowing wine and it will be a great atmosphere.

-Talk to all the awesome people! Winemakers, distributers, and us (of course)!

Check out Robert’s blog and then make sure to go say hi at the VIP Riot!

He loved it in April, and he’ll love it again. WINE RIOT II was the topic for a blog post for Adam Pieniazek at the end of July, meaning that he is REALLY excited to get his grove on and taste some vino.

Wine Riot and Yelp – Is It Love?-August 24th 2009

magtylermorg-yelp

On Tuesday August 18, 2009 , The Second Glass‘ Tyler Balliet, Morgan First, and Maggie Dayton attended the Yelp “Red Carpet Event” at The Harvard Museum of Natural History. The mingling of Boston’s most plugged-in elites, the party offered great music, delicious food, good drinks, and helped raise money for a really great cause. Project Smile is a non-profit organization which donates new and previously owned stuffed animals, coloring books, crayons, small toys and children’s reading books for police officers, fire fighters and paramedics to give to children involved in traumatic situations. The event helped raise $3,600!

Doing our part to help out, The Second Glass donated three sets of tickets for September’s Wine Riot to the event’s raffle. We’re excited to meet who won them at our amazing event on September 25th and 26th!

Along with our raffle winners, many of the Yelpers will be at Wine Riot, so come to schmooze and sip with the elite! See you at the Riot!
Blog and winery Sacre Bleu has highlighted Wine Riot for its unique ability to target the millennial generation that everyone in the wine world is after! Makes sense since the The Second Glass staff who throws Wine Riot is comprised of millennials :)
