More about Alexander Valley Vineyards

Welcome to our family-owned wine estate, once the original homestead of Cyrus Alexander, the 19th century rancher and namesake of this prominent viticultural appellation, Alexander Valley. We purchased the land from the Alexander's heirs in 1962, planted vineyards, and in 1975 built our winery. Here we grow grapes and produce delicious wines that complement food and enrich your dining experience.

Murphy-Goode
At Murphy-Goode, winemaking isn't just a family business; it's a family tradition - one that's endured since its founding in 1985 by friends Tim Murphy, Dale Goode and Dave Ready, and lives on in its current owners, the Jackson family. It's a tradition based on a shared appreciation of friendship, hard work, a wicked sense of humor and, of course, a good bottle of wine. Although currently more Bordeaux focused, in the early days of Murphy-Goode "a good bottle of wine" meant one of two things: fume blanc or chardonnay, both made with grapes harvested entirely from Murphy Ranch and Murphy-Goode Vineyard. But as the popularity of their wine grew, so did the need for additional vineyards. The solution? Simply bring more friends into the gold by creating partnerships with local farms and neighbors who shared the Murphy-Goode vision. In the summer of 2006, one such neighbor, friend and fellow winemaker Jess Jackson, displayed such a strong belief in this vision that he purchased Murphy-Goode. The winery is still very much a family-oriented operation today, with the Murphys retaining their original vineyards and David Ready, Jr., son of one of the original founders, continuing on as Murphy-Goode's winemaker. Though now, of course, they create more than just fume blanc and chardonnay. In fact in recent years, as newly planted vineyards have come into production, the winery's focus has shifted from primarily white wine to distinctive reds - particularly Bordeaux blends produced from grape varieties that excel in the Alexander Valley. And so the tradition continues: friendship, hard work, a wicked sense of humor and, of course, a good bottle of wine.

Dry Creek Vineyard
Dry Creek Vineyard is one of the few remaining family owned wineries left in California. With more than 35 years of grape growing and winemaking experience, our efforts continue to focus on the quality of wine in the bottle. When founder David Stare started Dry Creek Vineyard, he began the winery with a single-minded effort to offer the highest quality wine possible at a reasonable price. Dave realized that the success of the winery hinged upon providing that “something special” in the bottle to keep customers coming back for more. Today, the second generation continues to build upon those early-established values. Dave’s daughter, Kim Stare Wallace and her husband, Don Wallace, are wholly committed to the quality of wine produced at Dry Creek Vineyard. With an eye toward the future, Kim and Don continue their passion to produce high quality wines while being mindful of the original vision of the winery.

Joseph Carr
Joseph Carr wines are produced at Larson Family Vineyards in Carneros, bordering both Napa and Sonoma counties. A beautiful property built over a hundred years ago by Tom Larson's grandfather; it is here where we crush, barrel ferment, blend, and age our wines. Tom owns over a hundred acres of vines in Northern California, as well as managing 500 hundred acres of some of the finest boutique vineyards in the valley. It is a place where we can be creative, laugh a lot, and work together to produce handcrafted wines, unhurried, in a state of the art facility.

Ninety Plus Cellars
We are taking advantage of the current economic conditions by purchasing high quality and highly rated finished wines direct from wineries at a discount and then passing the savings on to you. Price and availability aren't the only selection criteria. The wines we purchase must have a pedigree of 90 or higher ratings, best buy or gold medal accolades from a respected wine authority or publication. Other companies with a similar concept are usually buying the winery's excess or distressed wine. We are buying a winery's best and most highly rated finished wine, which they would normally sell under their own label. Wineries are willing to work with us because they either produced more than they need or sales have slowed. In return, they are promised complete anonymity, which we take very seriously. The wines of 90+Cellars are great values because we are a virtual winery, we don't own any land or bottling facility. In fact, the source wineries bottle and label our wines for us. We simply search out world class wine, negotiate a great price and then pass the savings on to our customers. Upon release, each 90+Cellars wine is assigned a "Lot" number. A lot is defined as a particular wine from a winery. On successful lots we may purchase the next vintage (if available) if the quality is the same or better. In the end, it is our goal to provide wine lovers with an outstanding bottle of wine at a great price. If you like the idea of fine wine for less money, then give our wines a try!
