All together now, "Yah, das ist GROO-ner VEHLT-ly-ner!” After emptying a few of these Austrian 1L bottles of awesome white wine, everyone will be speaking, nay, screaming German phrases! Gruner Veltliner is the most widely planted Austrian grape, which makes it a very crisp and ridiculously easy to drink white wine. The only decent explanation we’ve ever gotten for why the bottles are traditionally 1L (instead of 750ml) is because Austrians like to drink more than the other European countries. We’re not going to argue, but instead, we’ll just crack open another super affordable and absolutely delicious bottle of Grüner and grill some sausages and fish screaming words that we think are German.
